Basking

CHRISTMAS EVE
Sunny beautiful weather, my shoulders are burning a bit but still golden brown currently, dad wants to go to the beach now and swim off the coast.

Saw dear Hat yesterday with Alex and it was great, she even has some hair now, AND she gets out of hospital for today and tomorrow which is brilliant because she looks pretty good at the moment with an impressive scar on her leg. She gave me yummy body shop things canteen had brought her but she didn't want, which was lovely of her :] Introduced Oaks to Alex which I think he enjoyed a lot, that wonderful flavour-packed punch of Asian cuisine. She is still such a sweetie making all her cheeky little comments, and Kate, she does agree that he looks like Maxxie from skins.

Off to the Princess Bay in a second, dad's VERY keen! He's been trying to make up lots of little summer jobs for me to do as he knows I have very little money at the moment that isn't being saved in the bank.

Home again... it was hot at the beach and the water was icy, so a midway point was hard to find. Pictures!
Not that beaches aren't hard to find and photograph, but I just don't care because they're pretty...
Princess Bay on Christmas Eve with Cloudy apple juice
and a passion-fruit ice-block

 burning...
Listening to Kimbra at the moment.. a New Zealand artist, I always enjoy it if an artist sounds good live as well as recorded.
CHRISTMAS TOMORROW, then on the 2nd of January off to Tasmania

Burgundy

I have had my hair dyed dark 'burgundy' by Caitlin, I like it
It's really really dark, though it will probably lighten
Change is good

there were kittens at Bryce's, they were the smallest animals I've held except mice, it was sweet as anything
Here is a mouse in a cup:
the kittens were about this small, unbalanced, curious about shoes and squeaky. One was really feisty too
They were about this big
Went to a party last night, was pretty good and there were fairy lights up
My lights are flickering at the moment, weird
Anyway, It was pretty chill and it was raining so we stayed mostly inside

Should be doing present swap with Kate tomorrow as she is going away to Thames on Sunday so that's pretty exciting, am very very very very very tired at the moment so I'm just mumbling away waiting for Julia's chocolate sauce pudding she's making at the moment before I sleep. Such a useless holiday I'm having :) but then.. it doesn't have to be! Almost fell asleep on the train today
To do list is DRIVERS LICENSE (I did it)

Here's another pretty picture of my fairy lights <3 bye guys

Goodbye, but what's next?

Should have known that the biggest event of the entire year would be the one where i was figuring out how to stick on the party feet gels in the car, and then after that that they have a peel off side and are stick on so my feet shouldn't slide. Forgot my pearl drop necklace which was grrreeeaaaatttt having gotten sore feet in the search for it, Alex was a babe and a half in his suit and was even better at being formal that i was, as i wasn't particularly concerned and still wasn't worried until the walked down the stairs came

thud

boomboom

Yeah, that's my heartbeat being like... oh you, you nutter, having your dress too long for your heels, congrats... *front of line* oh... WHY. WHAT THE. SARAH! DON'T YOU DARE GET THE REVERENDS NAME WRONG. OH NO, BISHOP, NOT THAT, WHICH IS IT? TIM OR TOM?
Then i realised i wasn't really all that fussed and just strode my way over that stage in my huge platforms (fuck yeah, was so tall)
Useless story in all. So I'll distract you with the only picture dad took of me :)
Never had my hair curled before so i did some selfies as I guessed dad would forget his camera, such pretty like hair
There we have it, my first time of being 'done up' and it was very... different
So ball stories? The food was amazing, Organised with Angus for suit lazer force which might be entertaining.. lazer force in suits. The dress and weird stick on bra gave me pointy boob syndrome and it kept slipping down which was sad, Alex made a point that it was as distracting as if he were hoisting up his pants constantly :p They played 'old people songs' which was fun and meant more of the parents and grandparents were dancing than us, there was a legendary granddad who was doing some sort of a jig.

It's strange being on holiday, having so much free time - last night I spent 4 hours taking up a dress
It's a beautiful one too, and eating blueberries

It's cloudy and will be for the next two weeks apparently, me and Alex put up my Christmas tree the other day, that was fun! Getting into the Christmas cheer. I wish I could find more Christmas lights, they make me so happy. When I live in a flat with Kate I hope we can decorate it like mad, with paper snowflakes, fairy lights and such.

Lots of photos today, I know.... but.... that's just how it is

Start of Summer, doing summery things

Summer is beginning and everyone's free now
Study was a bit rough, trapped at home for a couple of weeks straight studying the sciences and stats. Milkshakes came in thanks to mum buying strawberries all the time, any of them that looked too 'interesting' to eat with icecream or by themselves Favourite recipe so far?

Strawberries
A kiwifruit or two
Table spoon of yogurt
Table spoon of honey
Milk!

I would have a smoothie outside in the sun with my chemistry notes :)except the sun moved really quickly over my spot in the afternoon. The sun was pretty bring off my notes even with sunglasses so not much really sank in outside, i do my best study in the evening when there's no sun

Have been listening to Charlie McDonald's band Camelian Circuit online, which he has allowed people to listen to for free here: http://charliemcdonnell.com/music/
It's Dr who themed, which i enjoy the references to as i live in a Dr Who watching family, the current actor for the doctor gave it a listen and thought it was pretty good. As well as it being preformed by a group of young, attractive British guys.

Me, Kate and Max have been planning things for life at Hayward for a long time time We will be setting off for Otago university early next year, they are taking a combination of law and commerce/politics which sounds fascinating.., and i will be taking the well known First Year Health Sciences course heading off for (probably) physiotherapy. We have decided to all start a blog to remember it! So everything we experience and all sorts of photos will go here for people we leave behind at home to see if they would like to. I will have to see what i can fit in around my course though, i really have very little time
So here goes... the beginning of a blank page

Just finished 13 years of school and all the silly NCEA that i'm pretty sure i will straight merit in for endorsements for all three years of it. Kate's very good at eco so i'm hoping for her that she gets endorsed with excellence, it's highly likely with her skills...

Why is this called To the moon and back? Because everything is so going to change and it will be so new, just feeling a bit curious and excited about it. The moon is beautiful and one of my favourite things in the sky. The kind of feeling i have about the coming year is similar to the the feeling i get when i am out a long way from the city, probably with Venturers, and you look up at night and can see absolutely everything and it Isn't faded out by the orange city lights. Awe-inspired, excited, and curious.
I've been playing with make-up today, because sometimes its fun to dress up once in a while even if there's no real reason. I had Mac blue-brown pigment arrive in the post a few weeks ago and here's my play :)

its brown and blue at the same time, which is pretty
Mira, one of my cats, stuck close to me while i was studying even if it wasn't always very helpful of her. I'll miss her next year
